WHAT TO DO WHEN PEOPLE CRITICIZE YOU

When people criticize you, stop and check whether there is any substance in their criticism. If there is, be humble and correct yourself. If their criticism is unfounded, ignore it and move on. Do not retaliate or defend yourself.

Instead, let GOD vindicate you. When you begin to defend yourself, you make it even worse. Believe me, I have experienced this in my own life. My greatest regrets are the times when I defended myself when people criticized me. It tangled up the proverbial mess even more.

I am thinking of a professor at ORU who wrote a book damning Brother Hagin as a "false prophet," accusing him of preaching "another gospel" and more or less condemning him to hell. Brother Hagin never spoke a word to defend himself but rather chose to leave it all in the Hands of Him "who judges righteously."

And where is that professor today? Other than attacking men of God, what good did he do for the Gospel? The answer is: NOTHING, ZERO. People who make tearing down others their "ministry" disqualify themselves and never make an impact for the Kingdom of God.

It is far better to follow Jesus, and to serve Him with a pure heart, thereby making an impact for the Gospel and for the Kingdom of God.

That is why I would advise my friends to stay away from Christian and even political motormouths, blogs, and websites, who have nothing good to say and whose main aim is to tear down others.

Let us not join the ranks of those with loud opinions about everything. Instead let us love and serve Jesus, serve people, and make an impact for Jesus wherever we go!
