WHAT A WONDERFUL AND MIGHTY JESUS - REMEMBERING HIS MIGHTY WORKS!

A friend and I talked about a Gospel crusade that we held in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe when the temperature hit 60°C (140° F). I was living in a little thatched rondavel hut for two weeks, and there was no air-conditioning. Dead insects of all sizes that were dying in the thatch because of the heat, were raining down on my bed, and I had to finally put up a mosquito net to keep my bed clean.

Believe me when I say this: I detested the place, the heat, the insects, the cockroaches, but I knew that I had to endure it by faith and had to keep my joy, because I was there for one purpose only: to win as many souls as we could for our Lord Jesus.

Apart from the thousands who received Jesus, we saw many miracles. Three of the most remarkable miracles that the Lord did there were:

1. There was a young man whose legs were paralyzed and he could neither stand nor walk. He crawled on the ground, pulling himself forward using his arms, with his legs being dragged uselessly behind him. This young man was in the crowd. The power of God hit him. He jumped to his feet and began to run. Such is the power of the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus!

2. There was a man whose one leg had been destroyed by gangrene. His doctor had told him that he needed to have it amputated, or he would die, because the gangrene was spreading. The man was fearful and had refused. This man came to the crusade on his crutches and was in the back of the massive crowd. A pastor's wife who was his doctor's nurse spotted him, went up to him, and told him, "you go forward for prayer now, or you will surely die!" He came to the front. The Lord touched him and he dropped his crutches and began to run, completely healed.

3. There was a woman who came for prayer. She looked as if she was heavily pregnant. What she actually had in her belly was a basketball-sized tumour. As I began to pray from the platform, she bent forward doubled up and began to vomit. She was throwing up a massive amount of foul-smelling, bloody mucous. I told my team to get a shovel and throw dirt over it as the smell was just awful. After some minutes of this, she straightened up. The tumour was gone, and her belly was flat again!

My friend and I were reminiscing and talking about this. Then I thought of the words of Psalm 103:1-3, "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

It is good to bless the Lord, remembering all the good things that our Lord has done!

Then suddenly as I thought of Ps 103:1-3, I remembered my very first crusade in Rosario Argentina in 1986. I got up to preach one night from this very same scripture. As I loudly read verse 3, "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases," the huge crowd began to shout and to cheer.  When she heard the scripture, a lady whose spine had been severed 16 years prior suddenly got up from her wheelchair and began to walk. The crowd went crazy with joy, praising God.

Such is the power of the Word of God. "He sent forth His word and healed them." Ps 107:20

With these thoughts I am encouraged and fired-up today. We serve a Mighty God. With Him ALL things are possible. His Word carries His miracle-working power within it. Our Lord Jesus is the same today!

We cannot be defeated because we are overcomers through Jesus Christ. Our lives are hidden in Christ, in God. The Greater One lives in you and me.

Glory to the Name of our Lord Jesus!
