DO YOU WANT TO BE ON GOD'S "CUTTING EDGE" THING FOR TODAY?

Many people today want to be at the "cutting edge" of "what God is doing on the Earth today."

What they actually mean is that they do not want to miss out on the latest crowd-pulling trend that is the rage in the wider Charismatic world today. We saw the mass "holy laughter" fad where "the anointing was so strong" that many times it even sidelined the Bible. Churches could go on for months on laughter alone without the Word of God being preached. Then came the "gold dust" and even "gemstones" that miraculously appeared in meetings. Some are now talking about "portals" through which one can wake up angels so that they come and make visitations. Making contact with angels is becoming trendy these days. Others talk about lying on the graves of dead preachers in order to "absorb their anointing."

The interesting thing is that none of these supposedly "cutting edge" phenomena are mentioned in the Bible; but Bible or not, people believe in these things because they somehow “feel” so right and good!

Now let me share with you from the Bible what and where the "Cutting Edge" really is:

"When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

Jesus replied, 'Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.”

-Matt 11:2-5

Just before his imminent execution, John the Baptist wanted to be sure one last time that Jesus was really the One who was the Messiah. Jesus's answer was, "tell John what you see." They saw the poor having the Gospel preached to them, and the signs that followed the Gospel message, the blind seeing, those with paralysis walking, etc.

THAT my friends, has been God's "Cutting Edge" thing for the past 2000 years. This "Cutting Edge" thing has been pointing to Jesus and turning the world upside down ever since the beginning of the Church. It is not a trend or a fad with a short shelf life that comes and then goes away. It is about Jesus, about His Gospel and His works. It is about you and I doing what Jesus told us to do and what His apostles did after the day of Pentecost.

THAT is where the true power and anointing of God are found: preaching the Gospel of Jesus to a lost and dying world, and the Gospel being accompanied by signs, wonders, and miracles. Plundering hell and populating heaven: THAT my friend is "The Cutting Edge." It is what Pentecost is all about: Jesus and His glorious Gospel.

So, do you want to be on the Cutting Edge? Then do what Jesus said as He sent out His disciples to preach the Gospel.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”
